About us

Runnymede Citizens Advice Bureau is a fully independent registered charity with it's own volunteer Trustee Board. The bureau is a member of the national Citizens Advice association. The aims of Citizens Advice are:-

  • To ensure that individuals do not suffer through lack of knowledge of their rights and responsibilities or of the services available to them, or through an inability to express their needs effectively,
  • and equally

  • To exercise a responsible influence on the development of social policies and services, both locally and nationally.

The Citizens Advice service is independent and provides free, confidential and impartial advice to everybody regardless of race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, religion or age. For our policy on equality and diversity, click here.

The People

All of our advisers are unpaid volunteers who give their time to help their fellow citizens. They are supported by the bureau management team who are paid employees. Our Citizens Advice consultants, local solicitors and other contacts provide additional support.

The bureau is run by a Trustee Board made up of local people. We are a registered charity and hold a public meeting once a year where the committee is elected. We need more volunteers for various tasks including advising, administration or joining the Trustee Board. If you would like to offer your time please contact the manager.

The Resources

Our offices, in Addlestone and Egham, and basic running costs are provided by Runnymede Borough Council. The Abraham Cowley Unit is funded by local Primary Care Trusts.

We are a registered charity and rely on donations.
